What could I major in if I wanted to do child care and development?
Would early child education be a good major? What else?
Early childhood would probably be the best major for you./
already have bachelor’s degree in human relations. want to go back for bachelor’s in early child education.
Any idea how hard it would be? Would I need to take all the core classes over again? How long would it take to finish? Can’t get in touch with any counselors at my college right now and the website isn’t very helpful.
Most universities discourage a second bachelors degree, especially in a closely related field. If admitted, you would generally have to complete the core classes again (at least at the public universities I know of). It would likely take the same amount of time as your first bachelors degree, minus some prerequisites. If your primary motivation is career oriented, I recommend you get a masters in early childhood education. That will take you about two years and will probably be time better spent.
UC/CSU that offers the best in Early Child Education (Child Education)?
I am planning on transferring from a community college to a UC or CSU (I haven’t even started the community college yet, but I want to plan ahead; due to financial issues, I am going to transfer from a CSU, which I went for only a semester.)
Anything related to my question, I would like to know…Thank you so much!

Early child education…
what are the requirements to be a kindergarten/pre-school teacher in vancouver, Canada? what kinds of degree or certificates do I need? and where can I find those programs?
thank you
ok well with an ECE diploma u can teach up to kindergarted…HOWEVER because u have not gone thru the university process u may not be payed what a normal teacher would be payed, but instead be payed what someone working in a daycare would be. depends on the establishment.
algonquin college has ECE im sure u can find others online.
if u are worried about taking ur ece and still possibly wanting to go further u will need to get a bachelor of arts, and then go for teachers college, which is what i am in the process of doing right now
good luck
issues in early child education?
yeah lack of options is one
low funding is another
overcrowded rooms is another
no more seats to admit more students so they have to go to other schools
having to make the classes 1/2 day
like there’s a morning session and afternoon because there’s not enough rooms to have an all day class
uninvolved parents who eventually make their kids miss many days of classes because they can’t put their own problems on pause for the sake of their parents
these are some issues I see while working in my preschool
i’m only 18 so i haven’t seen too much…yet
