How can a child use computers as an aid to becoming a genius?
People are born geniuses (or Mensa if the word genius in not in vogue anymore), not nurtured.
However, constantly solving problems can help a children identify patterns and trends faster. Memory can also be improved with techniques.
A people can spend their whole life reading Wikipedia and remember facts but it only makes them knowledgeable. It does not make them intelligent. One needs to be able to process data into useful information. The ability to apply such information is called intelligence.
But the Leonardos, Einsteins, Hawkings & Faradays of the world are born so. They are called gifted because this talent has to be given.
Am I a child genius? Please enlighten me.?
So I have been called gifted all my life and decided to research child geniuses some more.
I’m 12
I’ve read at a 12th grade/college reading level for about 2 years
I don’t pay attention in class and i goof off yet get straight A’s
I don’t need to pay attention to retain information
I ask questions that the teachers don’t know the answers
I show strong vocabulary
I know things that no one else in the SCHOOL knows
I talk a lot, I prefer to talk to older an more intelligent people, but I’ll talk to everyone
I learned to tie my shoe when I was 2 by myself
I started talking at 8 months
I show high development in everything
I am not bragging I was just wondering. I like getting more then one opinion
There are more examples, but I don’t have time to list them all. I am very busy.
If all this is true then you are obviously very intelligent. With this gift, however, can come arrogance and I encourage you to guard against this. You can ascertain just how gifted you are through testing so you might ask your parent’s to find opportunity for you to do this. Too, your parent’s should, if they’ve not done so already, place you in "gifted and advanced" school programs as you may, even at your tender age, be ready for college.
Your gift can be both a blessing and a curse. If used wisely it may one day benefit mankind. It can also alienate you from others and thus prevent you from having meaningful relationships all because others see you as different. While you want to do all you can to develop your gift I hope you will develop humility as well especially since you had nothing to do with being born gifted. If you use your gift to flaunt your superior intelligence you’ll simply be revealing to others your insecurities and low self-esteem.
It is an awesome gift you’ve been given. Use it to study great leaders and contributors, both past and present, and follow their wise example while, at the same time, becoming your own unique person. Use it to make your own contribution to the world.
Good luck and God bless. Use your gift wisely.
